System-Wide Approach to Ending Homelessness

Jerry Jones from the National Alliance to End Homelessness leads the conversation.  An additional $32 billion has been allocated at the federal level this year to tackle housing and homelessness as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  In the wake of the greatest allocation of new money in U.S. history, how can Continuums of Care and providers serving those experiencing homelessness effectively advocate and influence policy decisions to ensure these new resources are doing the most good.  Also, learn best practices being employed to make a noticeable and measurable impact in preventing and ending homelessness.

Developing Cross-System Solutions to House Medically Vulnerable Populations

Crisis Response Systems for those experiencing homelessness can face significant challenges when trying to meet the housing and service needs of medically vulnerable populations.  Florida Medicaid has launched a Medicaid 1115 Housing Waiver Pilot project in the St. Petersburg and Orlando Metro areas to help develop a cross-systems and collaborative approach to addressing housing instability and health care needs for extremely low-income and disabled Medicaid members. This session will explore the Medicaid 1115 Housing Waiver Pilot project and discuss some of the most essential components to building successful, cross-system solutions between Housing and Healthcare providers.

Speakers:

Christine Durrance, Housing Program Manager
Simply Healthcare
