Florida Coalition to End Homelessness Virtual Conference Agenda

Ending Youth Homelessness
March 30, 2021 at 2 PM

Ending homelessness among school-aged children and their families takes a great deal of collaboration and community education.  During COVID, it has become more difficult to identify children experiencing homelessness through virtual schooling, as many of them struggle to attend class normally.  Our partners at SchoolHouse Connection will provide an overview of the national policy to prevent and end youth homelessness.

Speakers:

Barbara Duffield, Executive Director
School House Connection

Alleanne Anderson, Policy and Outreach Associate

System-Wide Approach to Ending Homelessness
April, 2021

From HUD System Performance to NOFA Scoring, there needs to be a system-wide approach to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. This session will explain how appropriate response to reduce the length of homelessness, increasing housing placement rates and long term housing stability, and reducing the number of individuals who return to homelessness.

Housing Solutions During a Crisis
May, 2021

During COVID-19, our systems had to respond to solving homelessness with limited resources.  This session will explore best practices to quickly respond to individuals experiencing homelessness and to provide appropriate housing stability resources during a crisis.
