How to Find Help

If you are experiencing or at risk of homelessness

Are you homeless or at risk of homelessness?  Please note that our organization does not provide services for homeless assistance or affordable housing.

Florida Coalition to End Homelessness consults with regional Continuums of Care that address the varying needs of the people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. These local CoCs provide a wide range of support services, including emergency shelter and transitional housing as well as permanent housing. Continuum of Care Lead agencies play an instrumental role in the creation and implementation of community-based plans that address the unique conditions and challenges of each local area. Please review the Continuum of Care links and information at the bottom of this page.

Facing Eviction?

The CDC director has signed a declaration for a temporary halt on evictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  FCEH has provided a simple Q&A about the eviction moratorium, with resources:

Q:  What is a moratorium?
A:  A moratorium delays the final action of an eviction, it does not cancel your responsibility to pay rent.  You must pay your rent as you can.

Q: Am I protected against eviction?
A:  The CDC eviction moratorium suspends evictions for failure to pay rent if you file a declaration form with your landlord.  This means that you must file the declaration to prevent eviction, pay what you can, and continue to seek financial assistance to help pay your past due rent.  Discuss your situation with your landlord because having open communication is important to your ongoing relationship.

Q:  Are there resources to help me pay my rent?
A:  Florida has provided Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) to local county governments for rent and/or mortgage relief.  Please contact your local County office first.

Homeless Resources

FCEH does not provide direct service but offers these resources to help individuals find appropriate coordinated entry locations in their community. For immediate resources, please dial 211 to get appropriate resources.  You can also use 2-1-1 online to find local resources like shelter, health care, food, and other social services programs.

Each community has a coordinated entry system for individuals that are homeless.  Individuals seeking homeless services are prioritized based on need.  Please chose your County below to find the coordinated entry information for your community.
