The Florida Coalition to End Homelessness provides the following services to its members and affiliates
.
FCEH works diligently with its consultants to develop favorable legislation that supports the capacities and resources for all 27 Continuums of Care.
Prior to each legislative session, FCEH Continuum of Care lead agencies meet to create and approve a statewide legislative agenda with our consultant agency. FCEH then drafts the bill and presents to the legislature needed to carry out the responsibilities of ending homelessness in the state of Florida.
All FCEH members participate in the legislative session through weekly statewide advocacy calls hosted by FCEH where calls to action, questions from the field, and outreach to legislators are reviewed. Historical advocacy information is available here.
.
FCEH works with its membership to determine the most appropriate training and assistance required by Continuum of Care members. The technical assistance ranges from coordinated assessment to achieving desirable program outcomes. New methodologies for assisting homeless families and individuals are introduced in various venues, including professional development events and conferences like the annual FCEH conference.
.
FCEH maintains a listing of homeless funding sources and assists Continuum lead agencies in developing grant writing opportunities to address local resource needs and gaps in service.
.
FCEH regularly conducts workshops on critical homeless issues throughout the state of Florida. The Continuums benefit from learning about best practices and demonstrated programs, which they can then adapt to fit the needs of their own communities.

.
FCEH builds capacity within each Continuum by increasing each agency’s buying power. These cooperative buying programs allow agencies to cut their expenses by saving money on items purchased monthly.
.
FCEH develops operational manuals to assist Continuums with disaster planning and preparedness, including devising evacuation plans for homeless living in the woods. We also develop available housing lists to determine placement of homeless in the event of disaster.
